Are you an introvert who’s a bit shy around others? You’re not alone. So am I and many other people. On top of that, many people deal with anxiety on a daily basis. But neither of those have to hold you back from earning extra money from a side hustle.
It just means introverts and folks with anxiety have to choose side hustles that fit them best. None that involve talking to people on a daily basis. Consistent social interaction wears me out instead of recharging me as it does for extroverts. I avoid daily interaction so much that I wrote an entire book about stay-at-home side hustles.
Instead, let’s focus on making money with side hustles that we can do on our own and that are pretty low pressure. No need to be anxious about it at all.
Online surveys is the an anxiety-free side hustle
Taking surveys online is an easy and worry-free way to earn money. You can do it from the comfort of your home, you can make a little extra money from it and if you mess up, don’t worry it’s just a survey. Surveyors are asking for your opinions so there is no right or wrong.
I started my side hustle journey by taking surveys and earned hundreds of dollars from it. It’s one of the many side hustles you can do at home and you never have to talk with anyone, ever.
Freelance writing is perfect for introverts
Writing online is a side hustle you can earn great money from if you work your way up. I started by using platforms like Textbroker and Medium to build my audience while earning money. You can also try one of these Textbroker alternatives if you don’t like either of those platforms.
After some time on those platforms, I also extended my reach to freelance writing clients, writing e-books, creating newsletters and my own blog (the one you’re reading now). All of these platforms earn me extra money in one way or another.
The best part about freelance writing as a side hustle is you don’t have to leave your home or talk to anyone if you don’t want to. You can sit peacefully on your couch, write your stories and earn money.
Reselling sneakers is a great side hustle
This last one is a bit of a toss-up. If you’re an introvert with anxiety, it will still work for you but you have to understand how.
Limited edition sneakers are released every month. Sometimes they are released from big brands like Nike or Adidas and sometimes shoe stores like Foot Locker and Finish Line release them. These shoes retail for hundreds of dollars, but they resell for even more.
If you have anxiety or you’re an introvert, you can buy these sneakers online and then resell sneakers using apps like StockX, eBay or Alias. The only time you’ll ever have to talk with anyone is when you’re shipping the shoes out and even then you might be able to just drop it off and leave.
Don’t let anxiety or being an introvert stop you from side hustles
We can’t choose who we are, but we can find things that fit us. The same goes for side hustles. You can make money from doing side hustles if you’re an introvert with anxiety. There are side gigs that fit your nature.
When I was a teenager, I had a lot of anxiety. Still do actually. Some of these are great side hustles for teenagers who need more money.
Whatever you do, just make sure you give it a full chance. I suggest giving every side hustle at least 6 months before calling it quits. That way you’ve given yourself every opportunity to succeed and then you can try something new.
