Not everyone has a social media account they can use to make money. Let’s face it, we’re not all brand ambassadors and many of us don’t want to be. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still make money online.
It’s a common misconception you have to be some kind of social media brand ambassador to get paid online. There are so many unique side hustles that pay without using social media.
If you’re like me and you really don’t like social media or don’t want to pollute your personal social media account with a side hustle, then follow along. I’ve got a ton of different side hustles you can pursue without using social media.
Let’s take a look.
- Side hustles that pay fast without social media
- Long-term side hustles that pay without social media
- Side gigs you can do to grow into a business
- Takeaway: Social media isn’t your only side hustle option
Side hustles that pay fast without social media
There are several side hustles that pay quickly without having a social media account. Mainly we’re talking about survey platforms like Amazon MTurk and reselling items on platforms like eBay.
If you need money within a week or two then these are the best methods I suggest you take. Depending on how quickly you learn these survey sites or the items you put up for sale, you can rack up some fast payments.
Taking surveys online
Sites like Amazon MTurk and Swagbucks can be great ways to make money online. Survey sites are a legitimate side hustle and I can verify that myself.
My first month using Amazon MTurk I made more than $50 and had no clue what I was doing. After that, I was hooked. I made a couple hundred dollars the next month and even more the month after that.
If you have an existing Amazon account then I highly suggest trying MTurk and seeing how much money you can make. Swagbucks is the same way but I definitely suggest trying MTurk first because it’s much more user-friendly.
Reselling
I love reselling as a side hustle. Open an eBay account and start selling today for a more profitable tomorrow. You might have a decent watch you don’t wear, a nice pair of shoes or even an old iPhone. Turn that old trash into cash within a few days.
It’s as simple as creating an account, taking pictures of your items and shipping them out once your sales come in. People will pay good cash for your old trash. Reselling is one of the three side hustles I used to make fast money for vacation.
I’ve made hundreds of dollars in eBay in a week just by listing old stuff around my house that I don’t use anymore. I’d rather have cash in my hand than some old items collecting dust and sitting around my home. You can also go to thrift stores to find items to sell if you run out around your house.
Long-term side hustles that pay without social media
Some side hustles take longer to take off. Typically, the payday is greater when you put in more hours of work on a side gig. After all, nothing of value was built in a day. Without using social media, some side hustles could take a year or more to pay.
Keep in mind while pursuing these side hustles that you won’t see immediate income from any of them. You’ll have to grow the side hustle to the point where it pays you. However, it’ll be worth it once you start getting paid.
Writing online
Growing an audience and writing online is a great long-term side hustle you can start without social media. You can start growing an audience and gain readers. Eventually, those readers will build up and you’ll find a way to monetize them.
If you’re not sure about how exactly you can monetize your online writing, I have a few ideas. Learn to make money writing on Medium, Constant Content and even Textbroker. You’ll find yourself growing your readers and making money just by writing online.
The more content you publish, the better chance you have of gaining more readers and making more money.
Amazon ACX
Amazon ACX is Amazon’s audiobook platform. Even if you haven’t written an audiobook you can sign up as a narrator to get paid.
All you need to do is sign up (for free) and start submitting samples of readings that you find on the platform. Eventually, an author will choose you to produce the voice on their audiobook and you’ll be able to either make a lump sum of money or split that author’s royalties forever.
ACX is a more underrated side hustle right now, but honestly, it’s a great long-term side hustle to think about pursuing.
Side gigs you can do to grow into a business
Here we have the side gigs without social media that you can actually turn into a business one day. Yes, some side hustles are so scalable you can actually make a full-time living out of them.
Amazon KDP
Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing is Amazon’s free-to-use self-publishing platform. You can start writing, publishing and earning from books using this platform.
Owning your own publishing company is something many people never think about doing. However, if you’re able to produce a few self-published books that are popular then you can really start making money.
The best part is you don’t have to be an author to make money from a book. You can pay someone on a website like Fiverr to write your book for you or you can create coloring books for free. Coloring books and journals are considered low content books and every other kind of book is a high content book.
Reselling sneakers
Instead of just reselling on eBay, reselling sneakers specifically can turn into a full-time business. Some sneaker brands are profitable and can resell for a lot of money.
Sneaker reselling is a full-time business that can be scaled if you know what you’re doing.
Takeaway: Social media isn’t your only side hustle option
Not to call myself an expert, but I wrote a side hustle book about gigs you can do from home and most of them are without social media. It’s only $1. Use it and try every side hustle in that book, there are A TON of them in there.
You don’t have to be a social media influencer to make money online. There are so many other options out there that don’t require a social media account. Think outside of the box. Ask yourself what you can provide to someone else.
Remember, you’ll have to pay taxes with the new tax rule, but there are some easy tax deductions for side hustles and freelancers.
